Hufvudstaden has long experience of preserving and developing properties. The company was founded in 1915 and was listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange in 1938. Hufvudstaden has chosen its place on the map. We operate in the two largest cities in Sweden, and our properties are located in prime locations in both Stockholm and Gothenburg. We seek to offer our customers more than just floor space.
Our ambition doesn’t end in developing our properties – an important part of our strategy is to develop marketplaces. We want to create marketplaces where the urban environment, communications, our functional buildings and our commitment contribute to successful business for our customers. For example, Hufvudstaden has developed Bibliotekstan, the area between Norrmalmstorg, Birger Jarlsgatan, Stureplan and Norrlandsgatan, which includes stores with high-class brands, mixed with high-profile tenants.
Many of our buildings have become well-known landmarks in both Stockholm and Gothenburg. Properties such as NK and Norrmalmstorg 1 in Stockholm and the department stores NK and Femman in Gothenburg, are properties that are familiar to most people. A lease agreement with us marks the beginning of a long-term relationship. We relish the challenge of bringing our properties into the future, coupled with our ambition to develop and exert influence through our environmental and sustainability work.
At the end of December 2013 the value of Hufvudstaden's properties was SEK 25.9 billion. Hufvudstaden has currently around 97 employees. The CEO is Ivo Stopner.
